Why Radiant?

Why the name Radiant for our women’s ministry?

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.

Exodus 34:29

Have you ever met someone that is beautiful from the inside out? This person always wears a radiant smile on her face that welcomes everyone she meets. Her humble spirit is so attractive that we all desire to be like her. Her conversations are not about herself but about others. She speaks of spiritual truths and practices Godly wisdom.

What makes her so beautiful and her face shine so brightly? What makes her a radiant woman?

The simple truth is found in Exodus 34:1-4; 28-35 where Moses is our great example. The Israelites saw that Moses’ face was radiant!

Why was his face so radiant and shining so brightly? Moses had been with The Lord! After spending 40 days and 40 nights with Him, The Lord wanted Aaron and the Israelites to know that Moses had been in His presence. Moses had two tablets in his hands and written on them were the words of the covenant…the Ten Commandments! Moses had a very important message to bring to the Israelites and The Lord wanted there to be no mistake that Moses was His messenger!

God trusted Moses for this great task because Moses loved the Lord and made himself available to be used in a great way! He was a humble servant! But what made him radiant…He spent time with the Lord!

We believe a radiant woman is one who…

  1. Loves the Lord – Trusts Him as her savior
  2. Spends time with the Lord – Spends time in prayer
  3. Obeys His commandments – Knows His Word

Why were hearts used in the Radiant design?

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-25

A radiant woman, since having been freed through Christ, lives for Christ and has a radiant heart – one that shines for him. Her heart determines her walk with the Lord. There are three ways her heart is radiant.

  1.  She loves God.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Deuteronomy 6:5-9

Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.

Matthew 22:37-38

  1.  She loves others.

Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

Leviticus 19:18

And the second [commandment] is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Matthew 22:39

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Matthew 5:44

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

Proverbs 17:17

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:7

  1.  She loves herself.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

Psalm 139:13-14

We hope that you join us through one of our Radiant ministry offerings as you spend time with the Lord and become a radiant woman.
